Americas Rallycross has revealed its calendar for the 2019 season, which includes two venues hosting rallycross for the very first time.

The IMG-led series succeeded Global Rallycross as the US’ premier rallycross category last year, and ran a calendar of four supercar and five ARX rounds throughout 2018.

This season marks a hug step forward for the championship, with six supercar and nine supporting ARX2 rounds across five events.

The season will begin with the previously announced trip to Mid-Ohio on June 8-9, then it will head to Gateway Motorsports Park for a doubleheader event on July 13-14. The series will then support the World Rallycross championship at Circuit Trois-Rivières at the beginning of August, before returning to Circuit of the Americas in September. A second trip to Mid-Ohio will round out the season on the first weekend of October.

“We are delighted to reveal our 2019 schedule which includes a foray in to America’s heartland,” said Paul Bellamy, senior vice president of IMG Motorsports. “Our new multi-year partners at Mid-Ohio and Gateway Motorsports Park are great additions to our ongoing partnerships with Circuit of The Americas in Austin and the Grand Prix de Trois-Rivieres in Canada as we expand our presence in North America. We are pleased to bring our high-octane brand of action to motorsport fans and sports lovers in the US seeking a four-wheeled adrenaline rush.”

Mid-Ohio’s two spots on the 2019 ARX calendar were announced in December. A new purpose-built 0.7-mile course will be built at the historic sports car course using the existing ‘Keyhole’ section, and will feature 10-turns and a jump.

Gateway in Madison, Illinois, is the other all-new venue to join ARX for 2019. The facility already hosts IndyCar, NASCAR Trucks, NHRA drag racing, and Formula Drift.

“We are excited to host this incredible new series and showcase our specially-designed rallycross track at Gateway Motorsports Park,” said Gateway Motorsports Park Executive Vice President and General Manager, Chris Blair. “We strive to offer a wide variety of entertaining events and it’s our belief that Americas Rallycross is another tremendous addition to our schedule.”

The motorsports fans of the St. Louis-Metro East region continue to support a wide array of events at our venue and we expect their enthusiasm to continue with this great addition,” he said.
